About TMI

In the hearts and spirits of like-minded men and women with roots from Mainit, Surigao del Norte, lies the conviction of celebrating these roots, our place, our heritage, its unique yet universal values and culture of sharing, uplifting each other, and affirming each other as God’s children gifted with talents, abilities, capabilities, and natural resources.

It was with this conviction and desire to honor God and be good stewards of His gifts to each one of us that at an appointed and much so, an opportune time that some of us gathered in a small group in La Mirada, California, to reflect on this common sense of community building and uplifting.

It was summer of 2007, a small group composed of Magnette Mosende Labrador, Nora Mosende, Don Douglas, Gina Villapane Dimaampao, Alfred Dodong Jun Villapane, Bill, Cleofe V. Llamera, Malou Dumadag Fulgado, Susan Relliquette, Anna Sannoy and enlisted by telephone, Dr. JR Gatpolintan, Edgardo Reyes, Peter Sy, and Cesar Mozar Jr. brainstormed to lay the foundation and contours of a formal organization that will have legal status and structure.

Tambayayong means and  connotes, "pagtinabangay with our kapwa" or to help one another. Tambayayong Mainit Incorporated got its legal recognition from the Sangguniang Bayan ng Mainit as a legitimate people's organization in 2007 and from the Philippine Securities and Exchange Commission in November 2008. With Magnita Mosende Labrador as its founding president, Tambayayong Mainit Incorporated was now official as an NGO.

TMI Subsequently has been led by Nora Mosende Douglas, Jesus Roland Gatpolintan and presently by Gina Villapane Dimaampao.

Tambayayong Mainit Incorporated will continue to move forward in carrying out its mission and vision with our Katambayayong-our members, our sponsors, local and national government, partner NGOs, our Mainit community and friends of TMI.
